Just hours before setting sail for Gaza, members of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF), who are once again attempting to provide assistance to the Palestinian people, criticized the failure of governments in Gaza, and directed their message specifically to European administrations.
In a well-attended press conference this Sunday aimed at highlighting the bleak situation faced by Palestinian citizens, they decried Israel’s impunity, and the complicit silence or inaction of many governments.
In turn, Sumeyra Akdeniz Ordu emphasized the need to call things by their name: “It must be said loud and clear, it is genocide,” while pointing out the Tel Aviv regime’s aim to erase and purge Gaza.
The director of Greenpeace Spain, Eva Saldana, stated that joining the GSF is a “moral obligation” and that peace is not a luxury, but a right.
For his part, Aziz Rhali lamented the lack of healthcare and supplies in Gaza’s hospitals. “There is zero stock of anesthesia: how are we going to operate on children?” he asked.
Meanwhile, Saif Abukeshek referred to the five thousand deaths in a single day in Lebanon as a consequence of the US-Israeli war against Iran, noting, “We have to mobilize every day, in every corner of the world; it is a moral duty, because governments have failed.”
