A monthly Ipsos barometer published by La Tribune Dimanche saw that the support for Macron rose from 22 to 23 percent, while negative opinions eased slightly, from 74 to 73 percent.
The head of State has recovered some ground in the last few months, after falling below 20 percent approval, a gain attributed to his stances on international issues such as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and the war in Ukraine.
The president ruled out, in March and early April, joining the conflict sparked by the United States and Israel with the February 28 attack on Iran, whose response included attacks on US allies in the Middle East and the selective closure of the Strait of Hormuz.
The poll places approval of Prime Minister Sebastien Lecornu’s performance at 27 percent, two points higher than in March, and disapproval at 62 percent (plus one point).
The survey, which included 1,000 French people of different ages and backgrounds, shows Justice Minister Gerald Darmanin with 43 percent, and Interior Minister Laurent Nuñez with 25 percent, as the most popular ones in the current government.
