Russia reports hundreds of truce violations by Ukraine

Moscow, April 12 (Prensa Latina) The Russian Ministry of Defense accused the Ukrainian army of violating nearly two thousand times, the unilateral ceasefire

declared for Orthodox Easter.

The Russian military ministry, in its official Telegram channel, emphasized that Russian troops “strictly observed the ceasefire in the area of the special military operation starting at 4:00 PM on April 11 and remained in the lines and positions previously occupied.”

The military also reported that Ukrainian forces attempted to advance toward Russian positions in the vicinity of Kondratovka, Novaya Sesha, and Kaleniki, in the Donetsk People’s Republic.

They also carried out three night attacks, all repelled, from the Pokrovskoe area toward the towns of Gai and Otradnoe in the Dnipropetrovsk region, and launched two fixed-wing drones toward the Russian border regions of Belgorod and Kursk. These attacks injured several civilians, including a child.

Last Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered Defense Minister Andrey Belousov and Chief of the General Staff Valery Gerasimov to halt hostilities on all fronts for 32 hours, from 4:00 PM (Moscow time) on April 11 until the end of April 12, and to be prepared to suppress any provocations and aggressive actions from the other side.

Moscow expressed its hope that the Ukrainian side would follow suit. For his part, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy asserted that his country “will act accordingly.”

In 2025, Putin also declared an Easter truce with Ukraine. However, at the end of that period, the Russian Ministry of Defense reported 4,900 violations by Ukrainian troops.
