Orsi attends summit of presidents in Barcelona

Barcelona, Spain, Apr 18 (Prensa Latina) Uruguayan President Yamandu Orsi is participating in the 4th edition of the Summit in Defense of Democracy, in this Spanish city, promoted by the presidents of the Spanish Government, Pedro Sanchez, and Brazil, Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

Orsi, who is paying an official visit to this nation, came accompanied by Secretary of the Presidency, Alejandro Sanchez, and Foreign Minister Mario Lubetkin.

Presidents Gustavo Petro (Colombia) and Claudia Sheinbaum (Mexico), among other heads of State and political figures, are also participating in the forum.

Foreign Minister Lubetkin noted that Orsi’s remarks will focus on democratic stability and the defense of multilateralism.

The Uruguayan president has scheduled meetings with Pedro Sanchez and Mexican President Sheinbaum.

After the summit, Orsi will visit Barcelona Supercomputing Center, and his visit will conclude with a greeting to the Uruguayan community in Barcelona.

Uruguay’s Broad Front (Frente Amplio-FA) party is represented by its president, Fernando Pereira.
