To Lam emphasized at an event marking Vietnam’s Ethnic Cultures Day that these individuals are not only guardians of the community memory, but also spiritual pillars, sources of trust, and contributors to maintaining stability and cohesion at a local level.
The top party leader underscored that protecting the cultures of ethnic groups is not just about preserving heritage, but also about safeguarding the spiritual foundations of society, strengthening national unity, and creating an intrinsic force for sustainable development.
The head of State noted that, despite achievements in this endeavor, we must frankly acknowledge that “the cause of preserving and boosting the cultural values of ethnic groups faces many new difficulties and challenges, some of which are long-term problems that directly impact the foundations of the country’s sustainable development.”
He pointed out that achieving harmonious development that combines improved living standards with the preservation of cultural identity, integration with cultural autonomy, and, above all, emphasizing the leading role of the community, is essential in areas with minority populations.
To Lam also urged working together to maintain peace in villages, thus contributing to local stability.
