The text noted, “We are outraged by the killing of two drivers contracted by UNICEF to provide drinking water to families in the coastal enclave.”
The release stated that the incident, in which two other people were injured, took place during routine water tanker operations without any changes to the routes or procedures.
The international agency emphasized that the Mansoura water filling station, where the attack took place, is the only drinking water point for supplying Gaza City.
UNICEF and its humanitarian partners use it several times a day to maintain essential water trucking operations for hundreds of thousands of people, including children.
The Fund called on Israel to investigate the incident and ensure accountability.
