The Manuel Galich Hall will host intellectuals and prominent figures connected to the literary competition, which runs until April 24 and whose international prestige encourages the participation of authors from Latin America and the Caribbean.
Given the complex situation in Cuba, the juries will assess the works from their countries of origin, Jorge Fornet, director of the Literary Research Center at this institution, told national television.
Fornet added that the prize has two fundamental purposes, one of which is to foster a connection between the jury members and the Cuban public.
On Tuesday, Fornet highlighted the panel discussion “Thinking and Rehearsing in Today’s World,” led by Argentine Paula Klachko and Cuban Marlene Vazquez, director of the Marti Studies Center.
He also noted the exhibition “The Century of Fidel,” at the Latin American Gallery, which will feature pieces from the Haydee Santamaria Art of Our America Collection.
On Friday, the Che Guevara Hall will host the awards ceremony for the essay and testimonial categories, while the theater awards will be announced in May.
