The non-governmental organization explained that these figures include some 700 women, 1,800 children, and 240 journalists, 42 of whom remain imprisoned.
The prisoners’ affairs group underscored that the detention campaigns are accompanied by an escalation of violations, including torture and severe beatings, threats against detainees and their families, as well as the destruction of homes.
The text also decried extrajudicial killings, which sometimes target family members of the detainees.
The Army arrested this Monday about 50 Palestinians in the southern city of Hebron and the neighboring towns of Yatta and Beit Umma, where they raided several homes.
