The Supreme Pontiff emphasized that the care of vulnerable people is a very important indicator of the quality of a country’s social life and insisted that the elderly should not only be assisted, “above all, they must be listened to, because they safeguard the wisdom of a people.”
He added that we owe them gratitude because they have faced great difficulties for the good of their families.
His Holiness highlighted the work of the institution’s staff and volunteers and emphasized the fact that it is called a home, because it signifies that a family gathers under its roof, and he wished that they could always live together in a family atmosphere, loving and helping one another.
