Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Guo Jiakun informed that a Chinese delegation attends the 82nd ESCAP period of session in Bangkok, the capital of Thailand.
Guo noted that Beijing presented its stance on upholding multilateralism, boosting open cooperation, harnessing digital opportunities, and advancing sustainable development.
The spokesperson underscored that these proposals are based on the global initiatives put forward by President Xi Jinping.
The official affirmed that China urged the parties to deepen regional cooperation and move toward building an Asia-Pacific community.
Guo added that, to mark ESCAP’s 80th anniversary in 2027, China proposed hosting the annual meeting in Shanghai, the city where the organization was founded.
