The aftermath of the clashes for territorial control is affecting southern towns such as Cul-de-Sac Plain and Séguin, the latter impacted in recent weeks by violent acts that caused numerous casualties, Le Nouvelliste added.
The shootings also encompass areas of Cité Soleil, Pierre 6, Duvivier, Village Renaissance, Fourgy, and Sarthe between the gangs of Chen Mechan, the 400 Mawozo of Lanmò San Jou, Pierre 6, and Terre Noire.
Residents of these regions described extremely difficult situations among the population, some of whom are confined to their homes, while some neighborhoods remain isolated by crossfire between the two sides, unable to move around or obtain supplies, Le Nouvelliste reported.
“We are trapped in the middle of the shootings,” one resident declared, his voice breaking with exhaustion and fear, according to the newspaper.
Direct fighting in Sarthe is less intense, but panic, shock, and displacement persist among the civilian population, who are also suffering from the burning of their homes by gang members, especially near the Brasserie La Couronne brewery.
