According to the report, this increase in trade shows the strengthening of economic ties and growing cooperation on issues such as food security and the development of scientific and technological collaboration in the agro-industrial sector.
The figures were announced during the 11th Meeting of Ministers of Agriculture of the SCO member countries, where delegations discussed agricultural development, food security, and scientific and technological collaboration.
The Russian delegation was headed by Deputy Minister of Agriculture Maxim Markovich, who highlighted the steady expansion of agricultural trade within the SCO.
He pointed out that Russian agricultural exports to the organization’s countries contributed to the overall growth in trade volume.
Participants at the meeting emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation in education, research, and innovation. Particular attention was paid to advancing scientific and technical partnerships, including collaboration in plant breeding and seed production.
As a result of the discussions, the ministers signed a joint protocol establishing priorities for future cooperation, along with agreements aimed at strengthening collaboration in agricultural science and technology.
Expanding trade in agricultural products is considered a key factor in ensuring access to affordable and diversified food supplies for the region’s populations.
