The government delegation participating in the talks condemned, in a statement released in the capital, the attack on members of the Armed Forces in Nariño, an action that was described as a criminal act in which units of the Border Command structure, one of the factions within the CNEB, were allegedly involved.
The statement lamented that, due to this attack with drones laden with explosives, three soldiers lost their lives in the rural Ipiales municipality, in the La Victoria district.
The document emphasized, “This is a serious violation of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law, and, if the participation of the Border Command is confirmed, it would also be a violation of the commitment made by the armed group not to attack the security forces.”
The delegation also expressed its condemnation and sorrow for the accident at the La Laguna village, also in the Nariño department, in which four children were seriously injured by a blast wave caused by the detonation of an explosive device left in the area.
