Under the slogan “Cuba is not alone,” the meeting brings together representatives from several sectors in the northern Cotacachi.
A cultural performance, “Song to Cuba,” is held this Friday, while debates, work in commissions, and the adoption of a final declaration will take place on Saturday.
The organizers stated that the meeting will allow for reflection on the international arena, marked by the tightened US blockade against Cuba and the threats from a possible invasion of the island.
A tribute to the historic leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro, is also planned in the context of his 100th birthday.
The Assembly will conclude with the election of a new executive committee for the 2026-2028 term and the adoption of the Santa Ana de Cotacachi Declaration, which will compile the resolutions of the meeting.
