“My Signature for the Homeland” was signed by diplomats and embassy officials, members of the 14th Medical Brigade, and members of the educational contingent in this African nation.
Ambassador Susellys Perez Mesa led the signing from Mpilo Hospital in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe’s second-largest city, with the presence of doctors and biomedical engineers.
“We reaffirm the Cuban people’s will for peace and unity, as well as their determination to defend sovereignty, independence, and territorial integrity,” Pérez Mesa emphasized in a videoconference with the rest of the State Mission, while reiterating the call for the daily fulfillment of duty.
Members of the diplomatic mission and the health brigade working in Harare hospitals joined in signing the declaration, as did professors from Bindura University, located about 90 kilometers north of the capital.
The initiative boosts the formation of a national and international solidarity movement to highlight the truth about Cuba and denounce the impact of the blockade and the multidimensional economic war imposed by the United States government.
The Cuban President made the call during the ceremony commemorating the 65th anniversary of the Declaration of the Socialist Character of the Revolution, on April 16.
