The Antonio Jose de Sucre Casa Amarilla, the headquarters of the Foreign Ministry, announced the hosting of the meeting between authorities from both countries.
This meeting precedes the high-level gathering between acting Venezuelan President Delcy Rodriguez and her Colombian counterpart, Gustavo Petro, who announced it a few days ago.
Petro confirmed the meeting with Rodriguez in Caracas, which will focus on security along their shared border of more than 2,000 kilometers, especially the situation in the Catatumbo region, as well as advancing the development of a joint plan.
The Colombian head of State stated that his delegation consists “primarily of military and police personnel, and Defense Minister, Major General Pedro Arnulfo Sanchez.”
The Colombian president commented, in the Council of Ministers at the Casa de Narino, the Government Headquarters, on the need to strengthen intelligence cooperation between the two countries to prevent harm to the civilian population.
