According to the state news agency SANA, an Israeli military unit consisting of several vehicles entered the town of Um al-Adham, searched several homes, and arrested a resident before withdrawing without explanation.
So far, Syrian authorities have not issued any statements on the incident, and Tel Aviv has not specified the reasons for the arrest.
This incident comes amid a series of repeated Israeli incursions in southern Syria, which in recent months have included house searches, the establishment of checkpoints, and the arrest of civilians, including minors and shepherds.
Days earlier, Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa declared that negotiations with Israel were progressing with difficulty due to Israel’s insistence on maintaining its presence on Syrian territory.
Following the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s government in December 2024, Israel declared the 1974 Disengagement Agreement null and void and occupied the buffer zone along their shared border.
Since then, Tel Aviv has intensified its military actions, including airstrikes that have caused civilian casualties and damage to infrastructure and military equipment in Syria.
