The two-day event, themed “Achieving Progress Towards Achieving the 2030 Agenda and 2063 Agenda Through Transformative and Coordinated Actions in Science, Technology and Digital Innovation,” is being held before the 12th African Regional Forum on Sustainable Development, scheduled for April 28-30 in this capital.
Ethiopian Innovation and Technology Minister Belete Molla mentioned, during his address, the peaceful applications of nuclear science for development in energy, agriculture, and health.
For her part, Musenero Masanza, Uganda’s Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation and outgoing Chair of the 7th African STI Forum, notes the progress made since the previous edition in Kampala.
The African forum was specifically designed to boost the dissemination of technology and innovation and expand the political and operational efforts necessary to speed up contributions to achieving the 2030 Agenda.
Representatives of African member states of the United Nations, the African Union Commission, the African Development Bank, regional economic communities, civil society, business and industry organizations, academic and research institutions, among others, are attending the forum.
