According to the station, which cited anonymous Ecuadorian sources, the Ecuadorian government is allegedly involved in a plot to stage an attack against President Daniel Noboa, with the aim of framing Colombia.
“Among the actions being planned, the anonymous sources spoke of a staged attack against Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa, which would be intended to somehow blame the Colombian government,” the radio station stated.
The station also emphasized that, in recent hours, images have begun circulating showing the Ecuadorian president meeting with former Colombian president Alvaro Uribe (2002-2010), although it admitted that the topics discussed at the meeting are still unknown, which shows an intention to give an advantage to the extreme right.
Radio Nacional revealed that the investigations into the meeting focus on a possible plan with implications for the bilateral relationship between the two nations and the potential adoption of trade measures by Ecuador, which could include increased tariffs on Colombian products.
President Gustavo Petro called for an investigation into whether the explosives used in the attack that left 20 civilians dead in Cauca, amid the escalating violence currently affecting the southwest of the country, originated in Ecuador.
This was revealed by the president, who also stated that the ammunition for the attacks would be supplied by the Drug Trafficking Board (which he defined as a confederation of transnational mafias based in the Middle East) to the fronts of illegal groups in Cauca, and that it would come from neighboring territory, given that Ecuador is currently the world’s largest exporter of cocaine.
