The Egyptian Foreign Ministry detailed that Abdelatty spoke via telephone separately on Monday with Araghchi and US special envoy to the Middle East, Steve Witkoff.
The head of Egyptian diplomacy exchanged views on de-escalation and support for the negotiation process between Washington and Tehran, following the regional crisis triggered by the Pentagon attack on February 28.
The diplomat reiterated the need to maintain negotiations to ease tensions and move toward an end to the conflict.
The foreign minister was also concerned about threats to maritime transport, warning of the impact that any disruption to freedom of navigation could have on global trade and supply chains.
Abdelatty stressed that political solutions and dialogue are the only and best way to achieve regional stability.
