“We are building engineering fortifications directly along the border with Belarus,” Demchenko confirmed this Wednesday in an interview with the Ukrinform news agency.

He detailed that fortifications are being built in all regions bordering the republic, including the Volyn, Rovno, Zhytomyr, Kiev, and Chernihiv regions.

“Intelligence units, the Ministry of Defense, and the State Border Service are closely monitoring developments in Belarus,” Demchenko emphasized.

However, when questioned by the press outlet, he did not specify what threats emanating from Belarusian territory might be under discussion.
