The World Festival of Young Artists, which will take place from May 2 to 8 in Holguin, will also honor the intellectual thought of Fidel Castro in a program adapted to the country’s current energy situation.
Traditional events such as the Congress of Thought and the Our Memory Award will be held in various locations to maintain the vitality of the event, which will feature artists from several Cuban provinces.
Artistic brigades from Havana, Santiago de Cuba, Granma, and Guantanamo will participate in events such as Babel, dedicated to the visual arts, and Shared Words, focused on literature, among other activities.
The program includes the Blue Camera section for audiovisual presentations, Rockmerias (a series of rock festivals), Street Theater, and Electroromerias (another series of electro-pilgrimages), in addition to concerts featuring folk music, rap, and hip hop, the Organizing Committee announced at a press conference.
The festival will begin with the Pre-Romerias parade and conclude with a concert by musician Isaac Delgado and his band, to reaffirm the festival’s motto: “Because there is no today without yesterday.”
