According to the Lebanese National News Agency (NNA), the president told a delegation from the International Federation of the Red Cross and the Red Red Crescent Societies that the violations include the demolition of homes and places of worship, as well as a sustained increase in casualties and injuries.
Aoun emphasized that the attacks do not exclude medical personnel or humanitarian workers, and specified that at least 17 healthcare professionals, belonging to the Lebanese Red Cross and other organizations, have died in the context of the operations.
The head of State emphasized that rescue teams operate under humanitarian principles, even notifying authorities beforehand to ensure their protection, which, in his view, exacerbates the severity of the attacks.
He also urged Israel to respect international law and cease its attacks against civilians, paramedics, civil defense personnel, and aid organizations.
The Lebanese president reiterated the need to clarify the fate of Lebanese citizens detained in Israeli prisons and criticized the refusal to allow the International Committee of the Red Cross access to verify their situation.
In previous statements, Aoun stressed that security can only be achieved through negotiation and called for full compliance with the ceasefire agreement.
