Organized by the Cuban Book Institute (ICL), the literary event, which gathers readers on Calle de Madera, next to the Plaza de Armas (Arms Square) in Old Havana, will take place at 11:00 hours (local time).
Yglesias compiles in this volume the results of extensive research on the Universidad del Aire, a radio program that aired in Cuba during three periods: 1932-1933, 1949-1958, and 1959-1960, the last two periods on the Circuito CMQ radio network.
The book aims to recover an essential chapter in the history of broadcasting in Cuba, the ICL noted.
Yglesias explained in an interview with journalist Reinaldo Cedeno, “The book also explores the history of radio in the Republic, from reviewing criteria such as those related to Goar Mestre, to the invisibility of educational and cultural programs on commercial radio.”
