The Italy-Cuba Friendship Association (ANAIC) issued a statement renewing its commitment to stand firmly by the Caribbean nation “without reservations or hesitation,” while “acknowledging and honoring the immense value of its resistance at a historic moment marked by enormous pressures and global challenges.”
“Cuba is not just an island, but a living symbol of dignity that refuses to be subdued, showing to the world that sovereignty and social justice are non-negotiable values,” the ANAIC stated in the press release, extending its greetings to the Cuban people, who reaffirmed once again this May Day their support for the revolutionary process during several events on the island.
The Association emphasized, “We firmly support their right to determine their own destiny, free from any external interference and blockades that vainly attempt to stifle the will of a heroic people.” Thousands of people attended an event in support of the causes of Cuba and Palestine, held in Concetto Marchesi Circle Park, of the Cultural and Social Promotion Association (ARCI), on Via del Frantoio, in the Tiburtina district of Rome.
Members of the Network of Communists (RdC) and other political forces, as well as members of the Grassroots Trade Union, and the Cambiare Rotta and Alternative Student Opposition youth organizations, attended this mobilization as part of the initiatives developed during Workers’ Day.
