In a statement, the organization categorically condemned “the executive order signed on May 1 by the President of the United States, Donald Trump, which extends the economic blockade to actors in third countries.”
In its opinion, in addition to being “a brutal act of economic aggression,” the executive order is interventionist and extraterritorial, and “an act of war before which we cannot remain silent.”
It added that the action violates all norms of International Law, and stressed that the world cannot ignore the increasingly threatening tone of the Republican president.
Trump declared his intention to take control of the island “almost immediately” and said that, after the war in Iran, he might send the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln to within 100 yards (91.44 meters) of the coast and expects to hear from Cuba, “Thank you very much, we surrender.”
The Mexican organization asserted that “these threats are now at a dangerous and unprecedented level,” as stated by the president of the largest of the Antilles, Miguel Díaz-Canel, and emphasized that “there are no coincidences.”
“We will take up every possible trench in the defense of the heroic people and their Revolution, who continue to give us an example of dignity and resistance every day. Nothing will break our daily efforts until the cessation of the longest-running genocidal act in history!” it declared.
