Faced with the failure to achieve his objectives through the blockade, sedition, and terrorism sustained for six decades, Trump is now announcing the use of military action, paradoxically under the pretext that Cuba constitutes a threat to US security, the PCCh warns.
The political organization condemns as grave and unacceptable Trump’s statements that his administration will “take over Cuba almost immediately after its military forces ‘finish the job'” in its war against Iran.
This confirms his decision to move to a new stage in the campaign of unilateral sanctions, with the purpose of imposing a change of government on the island from the outside and subduing the will and right to self-determination of the Cuban people to build a socialist society, a declaration from the Communist Party of Cuba (CPC) states.
Even though the United States’ withdrawal from the war against Iran, also arbitrarily unleashed, has an uncertain timeframe, its notification of an upcoming military aggression against Cuba corroborates the attempt to impose domination by force against the island and the countries of the region, which it seeks to maintain as its “backyard.”
The Communist Party calls for the active mobilization of the peoples for the defense of our region as a zone of peace, for its right to self-determination and sovereignty.
A military aggression against Cuba would also be an aggression against the peoples of all of Latin America and the Caribbean, the declaration warns.
The CPC urges the President Jose Antonio Kast and the Chilean government are urged to join in defending the sovereignty and territorial integrity of all countries in Latin America and the Caribbean.
