In response to a question from Prensa Latina, the Foreign Ministry Spokesperson’s office underscored that Washington’s actions are “a grave violation of the Cuban people’s right to life and development, as well as a serious violation of the basic regulations of international relations.”
The Ministry’s Spokesperson Lin Jian added, “China firmly supports Cuba in defending its national sovereignty and security, strongly opposes interference in Cuba’s internal affairs, and urges the United States to end the blockade and sanctions against Cuba immediately, as well as any form of coercion or pressure.”
The diplomatic institution recently defended its cooperation with the island, which it described as transparent and legitimate, after rejecting accusations from Washington regarding these bilateral ties.
Lin stated, “Fabricating pretexts and spreading rumors to defame cannot serve as justification for the brutal blockade and illegal sanctions imposed by the United States against Cuba.”
Beijing has repeatedly stated that it will continue its “support and assistance” in the face of repeated threats from the United States, and condemned Washington’s pressure tactics, which “compromise regional peace and stability.”
