In a statement released via the social media platform X, the IRGC command indicated that the new provisions aim to ensure navigation through the strategic maritime passage, although it did not offer details on the nature of these measures.
The IRGC Navy also thanked captains and ship owners from the Persian Gulf and the Gulf of Oman for cooperating with Iranian regulations during transit through the strait.
“With the end of the aggressors’ threats and in view of the new measures, safe and stable passage through the strait will be possible,” the statement said.
The announcement came hours after US President Donald Trump announced the temporary suspension of “Project Freedom,” launched to facilitate the passage of ships from “neutral” countries stranded in the area.
