The Prime Minister’s tour is aimed strengthening the Caribbean nation’s relations with its international partners, especially on priority issues for his administration, the Executive’s Communications Office added, as quoted by the Gazzette Haiti newspaper.
Fils-Aime’s trip to the Italian capital and the Holy See, leading a high-level government delegation, will last until May 11 and includes meetings with leaders of religious and diplomatic authorities, as well as international organizations.
The topics on the Prime Minister’s agenda for both countries encompass the main challenges facing Haiti, particularly regarding stability, development, and cooperation with the rest of the world.
The official mission includes moments of reflection and spiritual mobilization for peace in Haiti and for strengthening historical and cultural ties with the Vatican, in its commitment to active diplomacy focused on solutions to the problems of its people, the Communications Office stated.
