El Salvador condemns US policy against Cuba

San Salvador, May 8 (Prensa Latina) The Operation and Mission Miracle Solidarity Network of El Salvador condemned the new Executive Order issued by US President Donald Trump, which expands sanctions against Cuba.

In a statement, the Network strongly denounced “Trump’s new economic and genocidal aggression” and condemned “the ridiculous and absurd claims of the State Department.”

Cuba poses no threat to US national security, the document emphasizes.

“Such claims are vulgar fabricated pretexts; without any basis, lacking any real evidence; with the avowed objective of justifying the continuation of the economic, ideological, cultural, and media war, and, most seriously, justifying a possible military aggression against the brotherly people of Cuba,” the text underscores.

The Operation and Mission Miracle Solidarity Network also demands that the Trump administration lift the unilateral energy blockade, the consequences of which affect Cuban family life. Hospitals are reducing their operations due to severe supply problems; long nights without electricity constitute a collective punishment of the Cuban people, the statement asserts.

“The President of the United States, Donald Trump, is committing a collective crime against humanity, violating international law,” the publication emphasizes.

Based on these premises, the organization demands that the U.S. government lift the unilateral economic, commercial, and financial blockade, the true culprit behind the island’s hardships.

At the same time, it denounces and demands a halt to the dangerous escalation of threats of military intervention against Cuba, and urges the U.S. people and nations of the world to support the defense of sovereignty, independence, socialism, and the Cuban Revolution.
