In a message released on the X platform, the president emphasized that “the colonial approach has no place in the world of the future.”
Pezeshkian also stated that the Iranian people have historically distinguished themselves by their tolerance and their resistance to injustice.
The president’s remarks come amid regional tensions stemming from the conflict between Iran, the United States, and Israel, which began on February 28.
Following the start of hostilities, Tehran launched attacks against Israeli targets and what it described as “American sites and interests” in several countries in the region.
Subsequently, Washington and Tehran announced a temporary ceasefire on April 8, mediated by Pakistan.
However, the situation remained tense around the Strait of Hormuz after US President Donald Trump announced blockade measures following the failure of the first round of negotiations between the two sides.
Iran initially reopened the strait in conjunction with the truce, but later closed it again after denouncing a US naval blockade of Iranian ports.
In recent days, Pakistani Foreign Ministry spokesman Tahir Hussain Andarabi expressed optimism regarding the possibility of reaching an agreement between Washington and Tehran soon.
