The project, titled “Motherhood and Profession: Telling Stories…,” will run throughout May on the blog “El Canto y el Tiempo” (Song and Time), with weekly interviews featuring three female artists who share their experiences balancing research, artistic direction, and musical practice.
The project originated as part of an academic exercise for the Orality course, taught by Professor Maria Elena Vinueza in the Master’s Program in Management of Historical and Documentary Music Heritage at the Esteban Salas Musical Heritage Office of the San Geronimo University College in Havana.
The Cidmuc announced on social media its support for the initiative and guarantees its dissemination and institutional archiving.
We want to reflect on the challenges, lessons, and emotions of motherhood while creating and working in music, the organizers stated, dedicating the series to all mothers who sustain projects, homes, and dreams in their daily lives.
The first installment will mark the beginning of a journey that combines personal testimonies and cultural memory, in homage to Mother’s Day.
