Pushkov told TASS, “That sounds like overconfidence. Removing nuclear materials and transporting them safely during military operations is practically impossible.”
The Russian senator noted that this requires peace, an agreement on the transfer of enriched uranium, a detailed action plan with the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), and the unconditional consent and cooperation of the party relinquishing nuclear materials, that is, Iran.
None of these four conditions currently exists. The United States can monitor, but cannot confiscate enriched uranium without Iran’s consent, Pushkov added, commenting on statements by US President Donald Trump that his country would supposedly, sooner or later, seize Iran’s enriched uranium stockpile.
