The commission also agreed to launch and boost in Argentina the Global Petition Campaign: “Cuba is not alone! No to a new war!” To this end, they will begin convening unions, political organizations, student groups, and others.

They will also call for a march and flag-waving demonstration at the Obelisk, a central landmark in the capital, to further highlight the crisis currently facing the Cuban people, victims of a ruthless economic war waged by the Donald Trump administration.

They have also decided to draft a letter to deliver to the U.S. Embassy, ​​demanding an end to this inhumane hostility, and plan to organize a smaller-scale artistic event in the capital during the first half of June as a prelude to a larger festival following the World Cup.

Meanwhile, the Union of Cuban Residents in Argentina (URCA) issued a new statement urgently calling on the international community—governments, multilateral organizations, social movements, and the people of the world—to firmly and unequivocally reject the hostile policies of the U.S. government against the island.
