Prensa Latina lernt that the secretariat of the trade union organization affirmed that, apparently, President Donald Trump is not pleased with more than six decades of economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed on the island, nor with other restrictive and unjust measures such as those aimed at obstructing the arrival of fuel to that territory.
The CNUS denounced these actions of maximum pressure as a form of economic strangulation against the population and as an attempt to end the Revolution.
The organization also emphasized that Cuba is a nation of solidarity and a lover of peace, which has historically shared its knowledge and resources with other peoples in areas such as health, education, and sports in Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean.
The labor union maintained that the Cuban people do not represent a threat to the United States or any other state, and that they only aspire to live in peace, with respect for their sovereignty and independence.
It also highlighted the scientific and medical advances achieved by Cuba, including the development of medications for various diseases “that other nations without a blockade and with resources have not achieved.”
“Cubans deserve to live in peace and without a blockade,” the organization stated, reiterating its demand for an end to Washington’s harassment of Havana.
