The agency pointed out that, contrary to information circulating on social media and certain communication channels, there is no official statement or confirmation of the presence of sick individuals in the city-province of Kinshasa.
The INSP recommended that the public rely exclusively on official communications from the Ministry of Health and not be misled by the spread of false information that contributes to sowing fear and panic in the community.
The institution also assured that all measures are being taken to prevent the spread of the disease, while technical teams are mobilized in the field and continue epidemiological surveillance throughout the country to provide a rapid, coordinated, and effective response.

To date, 246 suspected cases and 80 deaths have been reported, including four confirmed cases.
