During his weekly press conference, the diplomat addressed several regional and international issues and affirmed that they are maintaining contacts aimed at reaching agreements regarding the conflict with the United States.
Baghaei noted that his country is not hostile to any nation in the region, although he believes that several states, particularly the United Arab Emirates, should learn from recent events.
The United Arab Emirates and other Arab countries were targeted by attacks attributed to Iran in the context of what Tehran described as a military response to the war initiated by Israel and the United States on February 28.
The spokesman also criticized the US and Israeli military presence in the region, stating that it does not contribute to regional stability or security. Regarding the Strait of Hormuz, he pointed out that Iran is coordinating with the Sultanate of Oman to establish regulatory mechanisms that guarantee the safety of navigation in this strategic waterway.
Baghai reiterated that Iran will not relinquish its interests under economic pressure or military threats and asserted that Washington “is fully aware” of this position.
