In statements released by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), al-Numan stated that Baghdad maintains its policy of distancing itself from regional and international conflicts, with the aim of preserving internal stability and security.
The spokesman explained that one of the strategic pillars of the government program is to restrict weapons exclusively to the State and consolidate compliance with the rule of law.
In his view, this measure represents an essential step to end armed activities outside the legal framework and guarantee the stability necessary to protect national sovereignty.
He also stated that the ministerial program includes a reorganization of security structures to unify decision-making and link all resources and capabilities to the official state system.
Al-Numan explained that this vision entails placing all armed forces under the authority of the general command and a unified security leadership.
According to the official, the current government’s political and security doctrine is based on preventive diplomacy grounded in balanced relations and preventing Iraq from being drawn into regional conflicts.
