“We have the highest expectations,” Peskov told reporters, specifying that the delegation accompanying Putin during his visit to China will consist of “deputy prime ministers, ministers, and executives of state-owned and private companies” operating in that Asian country.
Peskov stated that both Moscow and Beijing consider their bilateral ties as “a privileged and special strategic partnership,” emphasizing that it is a broad and multifaceted cooperation.
When asked whether Putin and Xi plan to discuss specific economic projects during the meeting, such as the Power of Siberia 2 gas pipeline, Peskov assured that they will examine all issues on the economic agenda of Russia and China.
Furthermore, the Kremlin spokesman emphasized that bilateral cooperation extends beyond trade and the economy, encompassing “every possible field,” including education, medicine, and culture.
Peskov also noted that every contact between the two leaders contributes to creating new momentum for developing and deepening relations between the two countries.
The Kremlin press service previously reported that Putin and Xi will participate in the formal opening ceremony for the Russia-China Education Years (2026-2027).
Putin will visit China on May 19 and 20 at the invitation of Chinese President Xi Jinping.
