Diaz-Canel stated in a message posted on Facebook that the US Government “knows this very well” and asserted that there is no evidence to support the accusations leveled against Cuban authorities.
The president expressed, “The anti-Cuban rhetoric of hatred tries to create the illusion of evidence to justify the escalation of its total economic war.”
The head of State also affirmed that Cuba will continue to denounce “most firmly and energetically” what he described as a “genocidal siege” aimed at stifling the Cuban people.
He deemed the US executive order “immoral, illegal, and criminal,” affirming that it persecutes and threatens third countries and companies that wish to sell fuel to Cuba or invest in the Caribbean nation.
Diaz-Canel also noted that the sanctions affect the acquisition of basic goods such as food, medicine, and hygiene products.
