Russia awaits visit from DPRK Foreign Minister

Moscow, May 19 (Prensa Latina) The head of diplomacy for the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), Choe Son Hui, could visit Moscow this year, according to an announcement by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko.

“We are awaiting the visit of the DPRK Foreign Minister and are confident that it will take place this year,” the Russian deputy minister told reporters.

Choe traveled to Russia in October 2025 to meet with her counterpart, Sergey Lavrov, and with President Vladimir Putin.

The Russian Federation and the DPRK signed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty in June 2024, replacing the agreement of friendship, good neighborliness, and cooperation signed in 2000.
