In a conversation with journalist Pavel Zarubin, the Kremlin spokesman strongly criticized such initiatives. “This statement borders on madness,” he emphasized.
He added that such statements should not be taken too seriously.
According to the spokesman, such declarations only confirm the recklessness of Lithuanian politicians. This situation prevents them from planning truly thoughtful and complex actions, the statesman concluded.
Previously, the press reported on the call by Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys for the North Atlantic Treaty Organization to attack Kaliningrad (the westernmost enclave of the Russian Federation).
Following this, Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova called the initiative suicidal paranoia.
