According to a statement released by the institution, the operation was carried out by the Anti-Narcotics Department after weeks of surveillance and intelligence work targeting a drug trafficking organization.
Security forces arrested all those involved in the network and seized equipment and logistical resources used in the production and concealment of the narcotics.
The Ministry pointed out that the confiscated evidence has been added to the judicial file to be submitted to the competent authorities.
The director of the Anti-Narcotics Department for Technical Affairs, Malek Moussa, stated that the shipment was intended for smuggling and had been professionally concealed inside clay pots to hinder its detection.
The Interior Ministry hailed the operation as a significant security achievement and asserted that it shows the capabilities of specialized forces to confront cross-border criminal networks involved in drug trafficking.
