In this vein, the Reina Sofia National Museum will lend more than 300 works for “F.G.L.: Flamenco Garcia Lorca,” a vast project that will allow Granada, Andalusia, to exhibit works by artists such as Picasso, Dali, and Miro.
Through three exhibitions from November 2026 to March 2027, Lorca’s poems will also be on display.
The director of the Reina Sofia Museum, Manuel Segade, emphasized that the initiative represents growth for the art gallery by taking place in Granada rather than Madrid.
The aim is to transform Granada into the cultural epicenter of the centenary of the Generation of ’27, exploring the connections between flamenco, Garcia Lorca, and the artistic avant-garde through works by historical artists and contemporary creations.
The program is sponsored by the Federico García Lorca Foundation, with the special collaboration of the Reina Sofía Museum, which presents different facets of the Generation of ’27’s work.
Curator Pedro G. Romero explained that this major exhibition project will be structured around three large shows distributed across five venues in Granada.
At the Federico Garcia Lorca Center, “Theory and Play,” an exhibition exploring the conceptual relationships between Lorca, flamenco, and the artistic field, will be on display.
