The traditional mobilization is being organized by the Mothers and Relatives association and comes after the National Human Rights Institution added eight new cases validated through investigations conducted abroad.
Activist Alba Gonzalez said, “It is an open list.” She released a statement from that group at the headquarters of the PIT-CNT labor union, which, along with other social organizations, is joining the march.
The statement from Mothers and Relatives denounced the continued impunity in Uruguay and demanded concrete action from the government.
The text reiterated the call to President Yamandu Orsi to order the Armed Forces to hand over information on the whereabouts of the victims of state terrorism.
