EU representatives begin working visit to Mexico

Mexico City, May 21 (Prensa Latina) Representatives of the European Union (EU) are beginning on Thursday a varied work agenda in Mexico, ahead of Friday's 8th bilateral summit and the signing of the Modernized Global Agreement.

Foreign Secretary Roberto Velasco welcomed European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen, European Council President Antonio Costa, and EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas.

As planned, Costa will meet this Thursday with the Standing Committee of Congress, tour Chapultepec Park, and visit the facilities of European companies, while Von der Leyen will be at the National Museum of Anthropology and meet with indigenous women.

Kallas will hold talks with Foreign Secretary Velasco and young people, visit the Templo Mayor Museum, and attend the closing ceremony of the Mexico-EU Business Summit.

EU Trade Commissioner, Maros Sefcovic, will meet with representatives of European companies, hold a bilateral meeting with the Mexican Finance Secretariat, and attend the closing ceremony of the said business summit.
