The shipment was transported to Ituri province from Kinshasa and the regional emergency response centers in Dakar and Nairobi, thanks to air support from the United Nations Stabilization Mission in the DRC (MONUSCO).
The supplies include personal protective equipment, first aid kits, tents, and sanitation and hygiene products.
The WHO also deployed more than 35 experts and first responders, strengthening operational capacity on the ground.
According to information from the DRC Ministry of Health, the Ebola outbreak has registered more than 500 suspected cases since it was declared on May 15.
Six localities are affected in the provinces of Ituri and North Kivu, and so far 131 deaths have been reported, eight of which were confirmed by laboratory tests; meanwhile, 69 people remain under medical care.
