In a statement, Fattouh stressed that the Minister of National Security “openly leads a policy based on hatred and violence, and boasts of murdering and mistreating Palestinians, prisoners, and those who stand in solidarity with them.”
He denounced the recent attack in international waters by an international flotilla attempting to break the blockade of Gaza.
The Palestinian leader condemned the attacks, threats, and insults suffered by the activists after their arrest and reiterated that these actions violate the most basic norms of international humanitarian law.
In light of this situation, he urged the International Criminal Court to act immediately and issue an arrest warrant for the minister “as a direct accomplice in crimes of torture, incitement, and organized racial persecution.”
Fattouh asserted that Israeli extremists can no longer evade international justice.
On Wednesday, Ben Gvir posted a video mocking dozens of arrested activists, who were filmed kneeling with their hands tied and foreheads pressed to the ground, while loudspeakers played the Israeli national anthem.
Faced with a wave of international condemnation, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu distanced himself from the official and criticized the footage, while Foreign Minister Gideon Saar called the scene a “shameful performance.”
