The National Civil Registry informed that the Colombian residents abroad who are eligible to vote can cast their ballots until May 31, when the polls will open in Colombia.
The entity stated that an estimated 1,414,661 Colombians (777,343 women and 637,318 men) are eligible to vote abroad.
It added that Colombians overseas will have access to 1,489 polling stations from May 25 to 30, and 2,181 other polling stations on May 31, which will be set up in 253 voting centers across 67 countries.
It emphasized that the identity card is the only valid document for exercising the right to vote, both in Colombia and abroad.
The electoral body also revealed that on May 31, starting at 16:00 hours (local time), when the polls close in the country, preliminary results of the overseas voting will begin to be released.
The polls stated that leftist candidate Ivan Cepeda leads in voter intention, followed by far-right candidate Abelardo De la Espriella and the Uribe-backed candidate, Paloma Valencia.
If none of them reach 50 percent plus one of the valid votes in the first round, a runoff with the two with the most support will be held on June 21.
